About

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,

which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them,

but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children

as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,

and He bends you with His might

that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;

For even as He loves the arrow that flies,

so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

Since I became a mom, everything has changed. My pre-pregnancy habits, my daily routine, my diet… Before getting pregnant, the blog only talked about marriage. It’s with great joy that I decided to change it when a nice + appeared on my pregnancy test.

These 9 months went really well, but the time after giving birth was much more challenging and complicated to deal with. In addition to the pain, I discovered postpartum depression, fatigue, tears, incomprehension, impotence, anxiety, all of which were counterbalanced by the love and happiness of being a mother. I was lucky enough to have the support of Palet Teamps, my dear friend, psychologist, and mother of two. She advises me during this journey of motherhood, and it wouldn’t be the same without her. This blog is in her honor.

The Palet Teamps blog aim is to make the job a little bit easier, and your life a lot more pleasant. The name simply means Palette teams, as we are all on the same palette but can be one cohesive unit to help each other too. If you’re reading this, know that you’re not alone. Let’s go through this magical experience together! The road will be long, but how pleasant!

I’m pregnant, now what?

Congratulations! You’ve come to the right place! On Palet Teamps, we speak the truth about what pregnancy is. Diarrhea, vomiting, stretch marks, hemorrhoids, there is no taboo here!

We also answer the most absurd questions that we all ask ourselves: Can I eat sausage? Can I do sports? When and how can I tell my family and friends that I’m pregnant?

Month by month, the blog will assist you with pregnancy planning. You will also find all the articles and advice on giving birth to be as relaxed as possible on the big day.

A blog for all moms

Palet Teamps is a blog for moms and mothers-to-be. Whether you are at the beginning of the baby trials, on a PMA course, or ready to give birth, don’t hesitate to come on the blog and talk about your feelings.

There is plenty to say on the subject. If some people live this “gestation” period in a very fulfilling way, others will not like being pregnant at all.

We are going to talk about pregnancy but also about all the discomforts that can go with it: Nausea that can go as far as pregnancy hyperemia, blood pressure, and risks of pre-eclampsia… I would like people to realize that women are warriors. They create a life with their own bodies! And until you’ve experienced pregnancy, you can’t begin to know how incredible it is.

Yours truly,

Amelia Jhonson
